                                              About the Course

This 2-hour  online continuing education program explores the intersection of race, gender identity, and mental health, centering on the experiences of Black Trans women. Black transgender women experience the highest rates of violence, discrimination, and mental health disparities of any demographic group. These inequities are deeply rooted in systemic oppression and are compounded by racism, transphobia, and cultural mistrust. This live CEU course equips clinicians with the knowledge and tools to provide ethical, affirming, and culturally responsive mental health support to Black Trans clients. Participants will explore the intersection of identity, trauma, and systemic harm while gaining insight into ethical considerations and practical strategies for clinical and organizational allyship. Grounded in justice-informed frameworks and led by a Black trans-affirming clinician-educator, this training creates space for honest dialogue, accountability, and community care.                                                                                                                               Target Audience Licensed mental health professionals Licensed Professional Counselors Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LPC, LCPC, LCSW-C, LCSW, LMFT) Psychologists                                                                                                                           Learning Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: ● Identify systemic barriers impacting the mental health and safety of Black Trans women. ● Apply culturally responsive clinical strategies to support Black Trans clients. ● Analyze ethical considerations for clinicians working with gender-diverse populations. ● Develop practical approaches for radical allyship within clinical and organizational settings.
